Hello Thaam,
There are names that grow into a person so perfectly that no
nickname ever quite fits around them. Yours was always one of them.
Thaam.
Short and distinct. Perhaps that feels fitting now, because there is something exceptionally
distinct about the way you have walked through these years too.
Not loud.
Not distracted.
Not easily pulled by the currents that carry so many people
away from themselves.
You learned, somehow, at an age where the world is
constantly asking young people to look sideways at everyone else, to keep
looking forward instead. While others chased noise, you protected your focus. While influence came dressed as belonging, popularity,
convenience, or temporary pleasures, you learned the difficult art of saying not
now to things that would have cost you the person you were becoming.
That is no small achievement. The certificates and rankings will tell one story. The person you became while earning them tells another.
Thaam, you are so very cool.
Being among the Top 10 in IGCSE O-Levels is extraordinary
and worthy of celebration. It is the result of discipline repeated on ordinary
days when nobody was watching. It is the accumulation of solemn evenings,
difficult choices, sacrifices that nobody applauds, and effort that often felt
invisible at the time. Success almost always looks glamorous in photographs. In reality, it is usually built in silence.
And we saw it. Every single bit of it.
As a family, we could not be prouder of you.

Thaam with Mom. The silent hero in this developing tale.
Not simply because of where you placed. But because of how you arrived there. Because character matters. And yours has always been your greatest achievement.
Education will open doors for you.
That much is true. Statistically, education remains one of the strongest
predictors of lifetime opportunities, income stability, health outcomes, and
social mobility. It gives people choices. It expands the size of the world
available to them. It allows talent and effort to travel further than
circumstance alone ever could. But education is doing something even more important while
you may not yet notice it.
It is teaching you how to think. How to question. How to learn. How to sit with uncertainty until understanding arrives.
Those skills will outlive every syllabus you memorize and
every examination you sit. The world changes too quickly for anyone to rely only on
what they know today. The people who thrive are often the people who remain
willing to keep learning tomorrow.
So, keep going.
Keep asking questions.
Keep doing difficult things.
Keep choosing the long road over the easy one.
But while you are building your future, do not forget to
build your life too. Travel if you can. Say yes to experiences that intimidate you a little. Learn things that have nothing to do with grades. Meet people whose lives look different from your own. Try hobbies you might not be naturally good at. Allow yourself to be surprised by who you become.
There is a version of growth that happens in classrooms.
There is another version that happens in conversations,
mistakes, unfamiliar places, friendships, failures, responsibilities, and
moments that push you beyond the edges of who you thought you were.
Do not be afraid of that kind of growth.
A good life requires both achievement and experience.
Both discipline and curiosity. Both ambition and wonder.
And perhaps most importantly:
Do not measure your worth only by how high you climb.
Measure it by how kindly you climb, how honestly you climb,
and how many people feel safer because you are beside them on the journey. There will be seasons ahead where things feel difficult. There will be moments where the path bends unexpectedly.
Goals will change. Dreams will evolve. Life has a habit of introducing chapters we never planned
for.
Be open to them.
Changing your mind is not failure. Taking a different road is not failure. Starting over is not failure.
The only true failure is becoming so afraid of change that
you stop growing altogether.
Whatever comes next, remember this:
You are not walking alone.
You have people behind you.
Beside you.
Ahead of you, clearing paths you cannot yet see.
I am here for every exam result, every difficult decision,
every moment of self-doubt, every exciting opportunity, every unexpected
detour, and every victory still waiting for you somewhere in the future.
Every step of the way.
Always.
And if there is one thing I hope you never stop doing, it is
this:
Keep looking inward.
Not to compare yourself to others.
Not to chase perfection.
But simply to ask yourself:
"Am I becoming a better version of the person I was
yesterday?"
If you keep asking yourself that question honestly, year
after year, I think greatness will find you long before you ever go looking for
it.
Congratulations, Thaam.
For the results.
For the discipline.
For the person you already are.
And for the person you are still becoming.
We are proud of you.
More than these words will ever know how to say.
With Love,
Your Big Sister
